The Iraqi – Canadian Association of Hamilton (ICAH) began in 2004 by members of our community in Hamilton who came together and decided to officially register the association as a social cultural non-profit organization and to be a voice for all the Iraqis in the Hamilton area.
ICAH’s Board of Directors consists of a team of volunteers from Iraqi origins that reflect the people of the Iraqi-Canadian community.
Over the last 25 years, the Iraqi immigrant community in Canada was growing rapidly. The majority of Iraqi Canadians are willing to maintain their cultural heritage and values. They are also willing to keep and maintain their positive traditions along with their Canadian identity.
ICAH is one of the community entities that introduces Iraqi culture and traditions to the Canadian Public. ICAH also encourages the Iraqi-Canadian community in Hamilton to participate in the cultural and community work that will bring them together as proud Canadians.
